Our “Diego’s Big Adventure” child, Diego, is 6 years old.  He is a happy boy who loves to smile.  He is non verbal, his parents and siblings communicate for him. 

After meeting with the family and months of planning his wish consisted of a modified bike for Diego which had pedals with straps so his feet would stay put as well as a lower seat and handlebars so his hands wouldn’t get tired and yet help with his coordination.  The team had a play set installed in his backyard to build his upper body strength. 

Diego loves to touch things with different textures, he loves to run out in the street and touch the man hole covers.  The City of Garland, Water Department donated three man hole covers that could be placed in and around the family back yard, allowing Diego to run from cover to cover in the safety of his own yard. 

Diego had a big surprise when he had a pony ride in his back yard which prepares him for his upcoming private horse back riding lessons.  His entire family also enjoyed a planned trip to Morgan’s Wonderland in San Antonio.
